About

We would rather lose the sale than put you on the wrong plan.

Better Healthcare Choice is an independent referral service. We are not an insurance company, and nothing on this site is a government program.

What we actually do

A narrow job, done properly.

People land here in a gap — a job ended, a business started, open enrollment closed six weeks ago, a COBRA premium arrived and it was worse than expected. Our job is to collect enough context that a licensed insurance advisor can do something useful with it, then get out of the way.

State, household size, whether pre-existing conditions need covering, and how soon you need coverage. That is genuinely all a good advisor needs to start.

  • Four questions, never a Social Security number
  • One licensed advisor receives your details
  • Licensed advisors in all 50 states
Our limits

What we deliberately do not do

  • We do not generate a rate, a price, or an eligibility decision. No software here decides anything about your coverage.
  • We do not sell your information to a lead pool. One licensed advisor receives it.
  • We do not run a dialer, a call floor, or a nine-touch follow-up sequence.
  • We do not claim a review-platform rating, a member count, or a savings guarantee we cannot support.
  • We do not pretend a private plan is right for everyone. It frequently is not.
The honest part

The part that costs us money

Private PPO plans are medically underwritten and are not ACA-qualified health plans. They are never subsidy-eligible. A significant share of the people who fill out our form are better served by a subsidized Marketplace plan, by Medicaid, or by staying on an employer plan — and the advisor is expected to say so on the call.

That is not a marketing position. It is the only version of this business that works past the first year.

Why people stay

The part most sites skip: what happens after you submit.

Anyone can put a form on a page. What separates a useful review from a lead sale is who picks up, what they are allowed to tell you, and what happens to your phone number.

A real review, not an instant rate

Your answers put a licensed advisor in front of the plans actually filed in your state — including the ones that are wrong for you, so they can rule them out.

One licensed advisor

Not a lead pool. The person who reviews your details is the person who calls you.

Nationwide PPO networks

Broad national networks instead of a narrow county HMO you have to move doctors for.

365 days to enroll

Private plans are not bound to the six-week open enrollment window.

Pre-existing conditions covered

Coverage is available. Which carrier fits depends on the condition, and we will say so.

No robocalls, no pressure

Your number is not resold. You will not be handed to a dialer or a rotating call floor.

Privacy-first intake

No Social Security number, no date of birth, no income, no login. Four questions and a name.

The advisor, not an algorithm

Nothing on this site picks your plan.

There is no engine here that ranks carriers, scores you, or binds coverage. The form exists to put a licensed human being in front of your situation — and to give them enough context that the first call is useful instead of a discovery interview.

Who we help

Most people arrive here in a gap, not a plan.

Coverage gaps are usually the side effect of something else — a job ending, a move, a birthday, a business getting off the ground.

Families between plans

A job change, a move, or a spouse losing coverage — the gap is the part nobody plans for.

Early retirees

The stretch between the last paycheck and Medicare eligibility is where private PPOs do their best work.

Gig and 1099 workers

Rideshare, delivery, consulting, creative work — income that moves needs coverage that does not reprice every quarter.

Newly self-employed

The first year out on your own is the year COBRA premiums stop being funny.

Part-time and seasonal workers

Hours that fluctuate below the benefits threshold leave people technically employed and practically uninsured.

Anyone who missed open enrollment

Six weeks a year is a narrow window. Private plans do not use it.

Not sure which of those you are?

That is a normal place to start. Answer four questions and let a licensed advisor tell you which door you are standing in front of.
