Disclosures
The things you should know before you trust anything else on this site.

What we are, and what we are not.
Private plans are medically underwritten and are not ACA-qualified health plans. The disclosures below explain how the service works and where its limits are.
- Independent referral service
- Not affiliated with any government agency
- Private PPO plans are not subsidy-eligible
Who we are
Better Healthcare Choice is an independent referral service operated by Better Healthcare Choice. We are not an insurance company, an insurance carrier, or a health plan. We do not issue policies, underwrite risk, or pay claims.
Not a government website
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any federal or state government agency. It is not the Health Insurance Marketplace, HealthCare.gov, a state exchange, Medicare, or Medicaid. The official Marketplace is at HealthCare.gov or your state's exchange, and a Marketplace plan may be the better option for you.
Submitting the form does not enroll you
Completing the coverage review does not enroll you in a plan, generate a rate or a price, create a binding application, or determine your eligibility for anything. It starts a conversation with one licensed insurance advisor.
About the figures on this site
Every dollar figure shown — including the $750 per month and $300 per month figures on the homepage, the deductible and out-of-pocket ranges in the comparison table, and any output of the savings explorer — exists to explain how pricing works. They are not offers, not averages of our customers, and not a prediction of what you will pay.
Actual premiums, deductibles, benefits and availability vary by age, location, health history, household size, carrier and the plan selected, and are determined only by a carrier after a completed application.
About the plans discussed
The private PPO coverage discussed here is generally medically underwritten and is generally not an ACA-qualified health plan. Such plans are not required to cover all ten essential health benefits, may exclude or limit certain benefits such as maternity, may apply waiting periods or exclusions for pre-existing conditions depending on the carrier and the condition, and are never eligible for premium tax credits or cost-sharing reductions.
For many people — particularly anyone eligible for a subsidy, Medicaid, or an employer plan — one of those options is the better choice. A licensed advisor is expected to tell you so.
Testimonials
We do not claim any review-platform rating, star rating, or customer count.
Carrier names
Carrier names appear only to identify networks a licensed advisor may review. Their appearance is not an endorsement, sponsorship, or statement of affiliation, and availability of any carrier varies by state and applicant.
How we are paid
We are compensated by the licensed advisors and agencies we refer consumers to. That compensation does not change your premium, and it does not depend on which plan you choose or whether you buy anything at all.
Licensing
Insurance is sold only by licensed agents in the states where they hold a license. Ask any advisor for their license number and state of licensure — they are required to provide it.
